What’s New In Financial Advisor Digital Marketing?

It was a weekend of hobnobbing with financial planners and investment managers at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle. The annual Financial Planning Association Conference was revealing in several respects.

I was surprised by the new social media and marketing companies targeting financial planners. Finally, it seems like financial services is being pitched the same level of social engagement and digital marketing platforms we see for other industries. Three highlights:

emarketeeremarketeer – Tim Handley, Director of US Operations for this Swedish company, walked me through a host of features for this “all in one marketing platform.” It sounded simple and intriguing, with a price you can live with, $70 a month for the professional version. Features include landing pages, email campaigns, event promo, surveys, Facebook pages and fan engagement, web monitoring. I’m starting with the emarketeer videos and will definitely start a free trial. See emarketeer for financial planners.

hearsay socialHearsay Social – Hearsay Social empowers financial advisors to efficiently and successfully use social media. Advice IQAdvice IQ – Seems like a great, easy solution for planners and advisors to market their services through high-end web sites such as CNBC, Morningstar, USA Today, theStreet, Forbes and others.  Member advisors are vetted by compliance and then get their own web page with background and capabilities. Advisors are encouraged to write articles that are syndicated to media outlets. Expert editing assistance is available. Advisors appear on geo-targeted ads on major media outlets. Thanks to Mike Mollenkamp, SVP, AdviceIQ Enterprise Sales, for walking me through this service.
